I’m in New York for work, watching the Red Sox game with Yankee announcers — a rather hideous experience.
There was, however, an interesting observation in the bottom of the second: on a ground ball that went to Tim Wakefield’s right, he put his glove down thinking it was going between his legs. It was a clear indication that he didn’t see the ball come off the bat.
Then they pointed out the Bank of America ad behind home plate. It has a white background which could be making it hard for the pitcher to pick up the ball. As one of the announcers noted “That could be dangerous.”
What they didn’t point out is that it’s now the top of the third and the ad has flipped over to a Continental Airlines ad with a blue background.
