Opens my calendar for Boston

I found out last night that I didn’t get a number in the lottery for New York City Marathon numbers — which is pretty much what I wanted. If you get rejected in the lottery three years in a row you automatically get in during the fourth year, and right now its looking like 2008, 2009 or 2010 would be a much better year for me to do it than 2007.

Paul Power, the crackhead who ran his second marathon this year in Stockholm this past weekend, did, however, get a number, so I’m thinking of going down to watch and see what I’m getting myself into.

  1. Thing I miss about my old apartment … it was right on the NYC marathon route. We used to open up all our windows, make breakfast and sit on the windowsills eating bacon, drinking coffee, and smoking cigarettes while watching everyone run by.

There was something beautiful about the dichotomy we created :)
